ABOUT SANCTUARY HOUSING

ABOUT US

OUR STORY

Established in 2017 by Founder Nicole Harcourt, Sanctuary Housing LTD is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable women, children, and families through funded support programs, charitable assistance initiatives, and safe accommodation support pathways.

Domestic and family violence remains one of Australia’s most significant social issues, with women and children continuing to face increasing housing insecurity and vulnerability. Sanctuary Housing Limited was established in response to the growing need for safe, discreet, and supportive pathways for women and families requiring immediate assistance and stability.

Through charitable donations and community support, Sanctuary Housing LTD funds and coordinates practical support programs that assist vulnerable individuals in accessing STA safe and confidential accommodation pathways and essential support services across Sydney. This includes contributing toward accommodation assistance, meals, toiletries, clothing, furniture support, care packs, and other essential living items for women, children, and families in need.

SH LTD also assists by facilitating referral pathways to trusted qualified case management to help women access emotional, practical, mental health, with long-term housing outcomes as they move toward safety, stability, and independence.

Accommodation pathways are intentionally discreet and confidential to protect the privacy and wellbeing of the women and families accessing support. Accommodation placements are carefully coordinated, with location details shared only with approved residents and essential personnel. These pathways are designed to provide women and children with a sense of safety, security, and dignity during vulnerable periods of their lives.

Demand for support remains consistently high throughout the year.

Sanctuary Housing’s long-term vision is to have a large scale housing project which will ensure women transition into stable, longer-term accommodation outcomes. We see firsthand the challenges many women face in securing private rentals due to limited rental history, financial hardship, or disrupted living circumstances. Our future vision is to support pathways into longer-term housing solutions that help women build rental history, stability, independence, and pathways toward permanent housing outcomes.
